Ineqe Safeguarding Group Independent Review into Oxfam GB
A note from Jim Gamble QPM on the release of the Ineqe Safeguarding Group Independent Review into Oxfam GB.
This Review has been a complex piece of work, focusing on a charity operating across a diverse and challenging geographic footprint. It was supervised by the Charity Commission and overseen by an independent QC. The content of the report speaks for itself and should be read in full to place its findings in context.
Amongst all of the negativity about Oxfam GB and its past failings, it is important to keep in mind the thousands of staff and volunteers who continue to do good work, often in challenging places.
What happened let everyone down but the focus for Oxfam GB must now be on continued improvement; implementing the lessons learned and building a more robust safeguarding framework.
